We are currently seeking a Lead Python AI Developer to join our team in Chennai, Tamil Nādu (IN-TN), India (IN).
Job Title: Lead Python AI Developer
Experience Required:
5+ years of hands-on experience in Python development 2+ years of practical experience working with Generative AI / AI-ML solutions Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design, development, and deployment of Python-based AI/ML and GenAI applications Architect and implement scalable, high-performance solutions using Python Build, fine-tune, and integrate AI/ML models , including Generative AI use cases Collaborate with product, data science, and engineering teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions Review code, enforce best practices, and maintain high standards of code quality Mentor and guide junior developers and contribute as a technical lead Drive innovation by evaluating new AI tools, frameworks, and technologies Required Skills & Qualifications:
Very strong Python fundamentals (OOP, data structures, design patterns, performance optimization) Proven experience in AI/ML concepts , algorithms, and model development Hands-on experience with Generative AI , including LLMs and prompt engineering Experience with AI/ML libraries and frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn , etc. Strong understanding of APIs, microservices, and backend development Experience with data processing, model integration, and deployment pipelines Good understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is a plus Good to Have:
Prior Tech Lead or Team Lead experience in Python projects Experience with MLOps , model deployment, and monitoring Exposure to vector databases, embeddings, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills About NTT DATA
