Python AI Engineer
Location: Mississauga, ON, Canada, L5B 1A7
Job Overview
Hybrid work model: 3 days onsite, 2 days remote. Full‑time, temp‑to‑hire, approximately 6 months. Hourly rate: $65–$74.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and support Python‑based applications and services.
- Build and maintain REST APIs, microservices, and event‑driven integrations.
- Contribute to the development of Agentic AI workflows and MCP‑enabled application components.
- Implement integrations between AI models, enterprise systems, and business applications.
- Develop reusable services and components following enterprise engineering standards.
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle: design, coding, testing, deployment, and support.
- Implement monitoring, logging, and operational controls to ensure service reliability.
- Contribute to automation, CI/CD pipelines, and testing frameworks.
- Work with messaging and event‑streaming technologies to support asynchronous processing.
- Collaborate with business and technology teams to analyze requirements and develop technical solutions.
- Support issue resolution, performance tuning, and application enhancements.
- Document technical designs, implementation details, and operational procedures.
- Follow established security, governance, and risk‑management standards.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related STEM field.
- 2–5 years of experience developing applications using Python.
- Experience with RESTful APIs and microservices development.
- Familiarity with event‑driven architecture and messaging platforms.
- Experience with FastAPI, Flask, or similar Python frameworks.
- Knowledge of SQL and database technologies.
- Familiarity with source control, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing.
- Experience working in Linux environments.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross‑functional teams.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Agentic AI frameworks, MCP, LLMs, and GenAI solutions.
- Familiarity with Kafka, MQ, or event‑streaming platforms.
- Experience with cloud platforms and container technologies.
- Banking, risk management, or financial services experience.
- Understanding of distributed systems, observability, and platform monitoring.
