Seeking an experienced Python API Lead Developer to lead the design, development, security, and deployment of enterprise-grade REST APIs in an AWS cloud environment. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Python/FastAPI, cloud-native API architecture, and modern API security standards.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop high-performance REST APIs using Python and FastAPI.
- Define and maintain API specifications using OpenAPI/Swagger.
- Implement secure authentication and authorization using OAuth2, JWT, and mTLS.
- Deploy, manage, and secure APIs using AWS API Gateway and related AWS services.
- Configure and support AWS security components including ACM, Private CA, WAF, and Shield.
- Perform API testing, validation, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare security requirements, including HIPAA and secure handling of PHI.
- Support CI/CD pipelines and source control best practices.
Required Skills
- Strong experience in Python, FastAPI, and REST API development.
- Expertise in OAuth2, JWT, mTLS, and API security best practices.
- Hands-on experience with AWS API Gateway, Lambda, S3, EKS, CloudWatch, ACM, and WAF.
- Experience with OpenAPI/Swagger, Postman, and API testing tools.
- 3-5+ years of AWS cloud development and deployment experience.
- Experience with Git and CI/CD practices.
- Prior experience working in HIPAA-compliant environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS Certified Developer Associate.
- Experience integrating APIs with identity providers such as Okta.
