Position: Python Developer
Location: New Jersey (Locals Only), Hybrid (3 days onsite)

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead automation and orchestration of complex data workflows.
- Develop, deploy, and maintain Python scripts for job orchestration across Oracle 19c on-prem systems.
- Design and implement Apache Airflow DAGs to manage ETL workflows.
- Migrate job logic from Perl, RunMyJobs, and PL/SQL to modular Airflow DAGs.
- Build Airflow operators/sensors for Oracle, REST APIs, file transfers (SFTP/FTP), and external triggers.
- Implement robust error handling, alerting, and retry mechanisms.
- Collaborate with DBAs and application teams on job dependencies and data lineage.
- Establish job execution logs, audit trails, and SLA monitoring dashboards.
- Participate in code reviews, job documentation, and onboarding new workflows.
Required Skills/Experience:
- 5+ years Python development, focused on automation and workflow orchestration.
- 2+ years building production DAGs in Apache Airflow.
- Strong experience with Oracle 19c, SQL tuning, and PL/SQL.
- Experience orchestrating large-scale data transfers across enterprise systems.
- Familiarity with job schedulers (e.g., RunMyJob, Autosys) and their abstraction via orchestration tools.
- Strong debugging skills across logs, databases, and file systems.
- Experience with REST API integration, SFTP/file movement, and parameter-driven automation.
Preferred/Bonus Experience:
- Experience modernizing legacy workflows from Perl or PL/SQL.
- Hands-on with Git/Bitbucket, Jenkins, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of financial data models (holdings, transactions, NAVs, tax lots).
- Basic understanding of data governance, audit, and operational risk in financial systems.
