Key Skills & Technical Focus
Strong SQL skills are the top priority.
o Focus is on advanced SQL and data analysis capabilities.
o Onsite SQL rounds are challenging.
o During phone screens, candidates are asked to walk through how they would solve problems.
Strong Python experience is also critical.
o Python is used extensively across their frameworks.
o Kafka is part of the environment/tooling.
Hadoop knowledge is important because their framework/environment is Hadoop-based.
o Candidates with only SQL/Python experience but no Hadoop or big data exposure may struggle to adapt.
o Candidates should understand how to work within and improve a Hadoop environment.
Hive and PySpark experience are must-haves.
o Candidates should have hands-on experience in Hadoop ecosystem environments.
o PySpark experience alone on AWS is usually not enough if the candidate lacks broader big data/Hadoop exposure.
