Insight Global is looking for a dynamic Senior Back-end Developer to lead the development and maintenance of service-side logic, collaboration with front-end developers and more. The Senior-level Back-end Developer is expected to have 8+ years of experience. You will join the Digital Store Experiences (DSE) team. This role spans multiple production systems including store communications pipelines, event-driven data services, and the internal store data API that powers mobile and e-commerce. You will own backend services end-to-end across the full development and release lifecycle in a high-availability, guest-facing environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead development and maintenance of service-side logic and databases using relevant coding language(s)
- Lead collaboration with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements
- Develop and implement data protection and storage solutions
- Conduct regular testing, debugging, and quality assurance reviews
- Act as subject matter expert for coding language(s) and solutions design
- Create and maintain relevant documentation and conduct knowledge transfer activities

Skills and Requirements
- 8+ years of experience with Python (latest version)
- At least 4 years of experience with Javascript
- Has experience with Kafka (building publishers and consumers, managing libraries, as well as Kafka Topics)
- Has experience with AWS (Serverless, Lambdas, SQS, RDS, Dynamo DB) and supporting deployments to AWS
- Is familiar with IAC (Terraform)
- Has personal or professional experience with AI
- Awareness of Secrets Management - Experience with React for frontend contributions
- Familiarity with Contentful CMS APIs and webhook integrations
- Experience with LaunchDarkly or similar feature flag platforms
- Familiarity with Oracle/ELA or enterprise store databases
- Retail, e-commerce, or marketing technology domain experience
- Experience supporting peak and seasonal traffic events
- Familiarity with AI/ML feature integration
