An opportunity for an experienced Python DevOps engineer to join a leading financial institution in the Netherlands. In this role, you will help develop and maintain a large-scale analytics platform used by data and machine learning professionals across the organisation. You will build reliable Python solutions, automate platform processes and support a modern Azure and Databricks environment.
This position is suitable for a collaborative and technically strong engineer who enjoys creating scalable cloud solutions, improving platform stability and translating stakeholder needs into practical technical outcomes. You should be comfortable working in a multidisciplinary Agile team and taking ownership of solutions from development through to deployment and monitoring.
Responsibilities:
- Develop clean, modular and maintainable Python applications and automation scripts.
- Build and maintain APIs using FastAPI and RESTful principles.
- Integrate the platform with internal systems, data sources and third-party services.
- Automate operational processes and improve platform reliability and performance.
- Deploy and manage cloud-native solutions within Microsoft Azure.
- Monitor the platform, troubleshoot incidents and implement structural improvements.
- Work closely with engineers, architects, product owners and business stakeholders.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code practices.
- Stay up to date with developments in Azure, Python and cloud engineering.
Requirements:
- At least five years of experience in a DevOps, platform engineering or similar role.
- Strong professional experience with Python 3.x.
- Ability to write clean, testable and well-structured Python code.
- Experience with type hinting, asynchronous programming and dependency injection.
- Hands-on experience building APIs with FastAPI.
- Knowledge of REST APIs and third-party service integrations.
- Experience with unit testing using pytest, including mocking and API contract testing.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure and cloud-native architectures.
- Experience with Azure services such as Entra ID, Microsoft Graph API, Storage Accounts and Cosmos DB.
- Hands-on experience with Docker and CI/CD pipelines, preferably Azure DevOps.
- Experience deploying and operating APIs within Azure.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform.
- Experience with Databricks or large-scale analytics platforms is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
