About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Python Engineer with strong expertise in building and maintaining scalable data pipelines and workflows. This role is ideal for someone who combines excellent Python development skills with hands‑on experience in orchestration frameworks like Apache Airflow and cloud‑based data platforms such as Snowflake. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing data solutions that ensure smooth data processing, high availability, and reliability across the organization.
In this position, you will collaborate with leadership, DevOps, research, and customer support teams to translate business needs into technical solutions. As the primary engineer in this area, you will take ownership of projects end‑to‑end, from architecture and implementation to testing and deployment. This role is particularly suited to professionals who thrive in fast‑paced, startup‑style environments, can work independently, and communicate effectively across time zones. Must-Have
- 5+ years of experience as a Python Engineer, ideally in data engineering or backend roles
- Solid hands‑on experience with Apache Airflow (MWAA a big plus)
- Strong experience with Snowflake
- Advanced programming skills in Python, with clean and scalable coding practices
- Strong SQL skills
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of solutions
- Experience collaborating with leadership and cross‑functional teams
- Previous experience working in small companies or startup environments
- Conversational English – able to collaborate with an international team
- Open to overlapping with Pacific and Hong Kong time zones for QA/debugging
Nice to Have
- Experience with PostgreSQL (or other relational databases)
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS and/or Google Cloud)
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools
- Knowledge of data quality and observability best practices
