Role Summary :-
We are seeking a skilled Python Backend Engineer (G4) with 4 6 years of experience to join Hexaware. The ideal candidate will have strong core Python skills and practical experience or solid knowledge of FastAPI and Pytest. This role will contribute to designing, building, testing, and maintaining scalable APIs and backend services, working closely with product, QA, and DevOps teams.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services using Python and FastAPI.
Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices.
Develop and maintain automated tests using Pytest; ensure high unit/integration test coverage.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define API contracts, data models, and system design.
Participate in code reviews and mentor junior engineers on best practices.
Troubleshoot, profile and optimize application performance and memory usage.
Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automation for builds, testing and deployments.
Work with monitoring/observability tools to maintain service reliability and SLAs.
Mandatory Skills (must-have)
Strong core Python skills (data structures, OOP, async programming, package/module management).
Practical experience or solid knowledge of FastAPI (API design, dependency injection, async endpoints, middleware).
Practical experience using Pytest for unit and integration testing (fixtures, parametrization, mocks).
Experience with version control systems (Git) and branching/merge strategies.
Desired / Nice-to-have Skills
Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis) && SQL Alchemy ORM framework
Familiarity with Docker and container orchestration (Kubernetes).
Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
Knowledge of API authentication/authorization (JWT, OAuth2) and security best practices.
Familiarity with observability: logging, metrics, distributed tracing.
Cloud experience (AWS / Azure / GCP) is an advantage.
Exposure to performance profiling, async frameworks, or event-driven architectures.

Total experience: 4 6 years (Grade G4).
