We are looking for a Python MCP Developer to build, configure, and deploy Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers that connect AI agents to enterprise systems. This position will be Contract and remote
What You'll Do
Build and maintain MCP servers in Python using FastMCP and the MCP Streamable HTTP transport
Review, checkout, and adapt community MCP servers for internal use
Deploy MCP servers on AWS Lambda or on VM/EC2 infrastructure
Wrap enterprise APIs and databases into MCP tools with business-friendly descriptions
Orchestrate backend APIs and expose them as tools on MCP servers
Implement authentication and credential handling using OAuth2, API keys, and service principals
Register MCP servers in AgentCore Gateway and support end-to-end testing
Write tests, troubleshoot failures, and document tool behavior clearly
What You'll Need
Required:
Senior-level Python development experience
Strong understanding of MCP concepts and server architecture
Hands-on experience with FastMCP
Experience deploying Python services on AWS Lambda and/or VM-based infrastructure
Strong understanding of OAuth2 and OIDC
Ability to work with REST APIs and enterprise data sources
Familiarity with AWS services such as IAM, Secrets Manager, CloudWatch, and S3
Preferred:
AWS cloud experience
Experience with API integrations
Experience with EC2, PM2, Mangum, and Function URLs
Experience integrating with enterprise platforms such as Salesforce, Oracle, Windchill, Planisware, or Databricks
Physical Demands
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions
Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.
Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor
