Senior Python Software Engineer (Cloud/Platform)
Contract: Inside IR35
Location: Hybrid - Leeds (approximately 1 day per month on-site)
Duration: Until August 2027 (initial contract)
Rate: Up to £400 per day
Security Clearance: Active SC Clearance required (transferable)
you'll be responsible for developing secure, cloud-native Python applications while helping improve platform capabilities, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code and developer experience across a large-scale AWS environment.
Essential Skills
- Strong commercial Python development experience
- AWS cloud development experience
- Terraform (or other Infrastructure as Code tools)
- CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions or similar)
- Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC)
- Observability and monitoring tooling
- Experience supporting production systems and incident investigation
Desirable
- Platform Engineering or DevOps experience
- Shift-left security practices
- Building reusable IaC modules and CI/CD components
- Experience promoting engineering best practices across teams
Requirements
- Active transferable SC Security Clearance
- Willingness to join an on-call rota once fully onboarded
