Senior Python Software Engineer – Eneco Ventures
Location: Rotterdam, Netherlands
We’re looking for a technical lead to design and build a mission‑critical platform for short‑term trading asset scheduling.
What you’ll do
- Lead the development of a new platform for short‑term trading asset scheduling models using Python and cloud technologies.
- Ensure adherence to high‑quality coding standards, maintainability, and security of production systems.
- Architect and develop resilient and future‑proof applications that integrate with a diverse portfolio of energy assets.
- Mentor and coach a small team of developers.
- Drive adoption of modern Python and cloud practices, and keep the stack current.
- Oversee the software development lifecycle and ensure continuous delivery.
Responsibilities
- Build resilient and future‑proof applications;
plan, architect and develop the asset dispatching platform and energy optimisation models. - Grow the team by coaching and mentoring.
- Push standards: ensure code follows best practices, is efficient, and well‑tested.
- Drive adoption;
keep technology currentwith Python and cloud advancements. - Oversee the software development lifecycle.
- Ensure production systems perform efficiently, with robust security and maintainability.
Qualifications
- Proven expertise in Python and cloud engineering.
- Experience building mission‑critical platforms.
- Strong technical communication skills;
able to translaterequirements for stakeholders. - Comprehensive understanding of containerisation, microservices and CI/CD processes (Azure DevOps).
- Leadership experience;
able to lead a team of developers and maintain high coding standards. - Residency in the Netherlands and fluency in English.
- Bonus: experience with mathematical optimisation (Gurobi), background in trading, energy markets, or optimisation models.
- Bonus: proficiency in data science/engineering.
- Bonus: experience with frontend frameworks such as Vue.Js.
- Bonus: familiarity with .NET/C#.
What we offer
- Gross annual salary: €85,000 – €120,000.
- FlexBudget, 8 % holiday allowance, bonus or collective profit sharing.
