Contract Python Software Engineer (6 months - Likely to extend)
We’re working with an innovative technology business looking for an experienced Python Software Engineer to join the team on an initial contract.
You’ll be building low‑latency, real‑time systems, developing integrations with external data sources using web scraping and reverse engineering techniques, and helping improve the reliability and observability of production systems. You’ll work closely with a highly technical team in a fast‑paced environment where Python engineers take ownership from design through to production.
Key requirements:
- Experience building high-performance backend systems
- Knowledge of web scraping and reverse engineering, including working around bot protection
- Familiarity with Linux, PostgreSQL, Redis, Kafka or RabbitMQ
- Excellent communication skills and a pragmatic approach to software engineering
This is a great opportunity for a Senior Python Engineer to work on technically challenging systems with a high degree of autonomy in a collaborative engineering environment.
