Job Summary
STAFFXPERT LLC is seeking a Senior Python Test Automation Engineer on behalf of our client in Reston, VA / Atlanta, GA. This role is ideal for an experienced quality engineering professional with a strong background in Python-based test automation, framework development, and enterprise application testing. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving automation strategy, enhancing software quality, and supporting the delivery of scalable web, API, database, and microservices solutions.
Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks using Python.

Create and execute automated test scripts for web, API, database, and microservices-based applications.

Build reusable automation components using Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and industry best practices.

Perform API testing and validation using REST, SOAP, Postman, Requests, Swagger/OpenAPI, and related technologies.

Integrate automated testing solutions into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous delivery.

Conduct database validation and backend testing using SQL.

Analyze test results, troubleshoot defects, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues.

Improve test coverage, automation efficiency, and overall quality engineering practices.

Mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance on automation strategies.
Required Qualifications
-
10+ years of experience in Software Testing and Quality Assurance.

5+ years of hands-on experience developing automation solutions using Python.

Strong expertise in Python and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP).

Experience with automation frameworks such as PyTest, Unittest, Robot Framework, or Behave.

Hands-on experience with Selenium, Playwright, and/or Appium.

Strong API automation experience using REST, SOAP, Postman, Requests, and Swagger/OpenAPI.

Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or Azure DevOps.

Strong SQL skills and experience with database testing and data validation.

Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Ability to work effectively in Agile and collaborative development environments.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized testing environments.

Exposure to performance, load, or scalability testing.

Experience supporting large-scale enterprise applications and distributed systems.

Prior experience leading automation initiatives or mentoring team members.
