Job Summary
Synechron is seeking a focused and capable QA Automation Engineer specializing in Playwright to design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks for web applications. This role emphasizes hands-on automation using Playwright (JavaScript/TypeScript), collaboration with cross-functional teams, and integration of automated tests into CI/CD pipelines. The successful candidate will contribute to reliable, scalable software delivery and actively participate in process improvements, with a strong emphasis on quality and efficiency in an Agile environment.
Software Requirements
Required Skills (Essential)
Proficiency in Playwright for automated testing of web applications (JavaScript/TypeScript)
Strong experience designing, developing, and maintaining automated test scripts and frameworks
Experience with API testing (REST/GraphQL) using tools like Postman or automated approaches
Solid understanding of SDLC/Agile methodologies and working within cross-functional teams
Proficiency with version control systems (Git) and collaboration platforms (GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket)
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests (e.g., Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions)
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; ability to debug and troubleshoot test failures
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for documentation and reporting
Familiarity with test planning, data setup, and test data management
Preferred Skills
Knowledge of additional automation tools or frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress)
Experience with test management tools (JIRA, HP ALM) and defect lifecycle
Experience with performance testing basics and test automation maintenance
Exposure to cloud-based testing environments or multi-cloud contexts
Familiarity with security testing and data privacy considerations in test environments
Overall Responsibilities
Design and implement robust Playwright-based automated test scripts and frameworks for web applications
Collaborate with product managers, developers, QA peers, and operations to define test strategies and coverage
Develop, execute, and maintain test plans, test cases, and test data arrangements
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to enable rapid, reliable releases
Identify, log, and track defects; coordinate with developers for timely resolution and retesting
Conduct and contribute to code reviews to uphold quality standards
Produce clear test reports, dashboards, and quality metrics for stakeholders
Participate in Agile ceremonies (planning, stand-ups, retrospectives) and contribute to continuous improvement
Support test environment setup, data provisioning, and environment management
Document testing processes, best practices, and lessons learned for team growth

Alternative pathways: strong portfolio of Playwright-based automation projects or related certifications
Day-to-Day Activities
Create, maintain, and enhance automated test scripts and frameworks
Plan and execute test activities; collaborate with stakeholders to ensure test coverage
Run automated and manual tests; log and track defects; ensure timely retesting
Contribute to test plans, test data strategies, and test environment requirements
Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and reviews
Document results, metrics, and best practices; share knowledge with the team
Support release activities and post-release validation
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
3–5 years of hands-on QA automation experience with Playwright
Certifications in test automation or related QA disciplines are a plus
