Responsibilities and duties
- Develop and maintain test automation frameworks using Java or similar programming languages.
- Conduct browser and mobile test automation using tools like Selenium, Protractor, and Appium.
- Implement API test automation using REST Assured or Ready API/SoapUI.
- Perform performance testing using tools like JMeter.
- Demonstrate knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS) architecture.
- Employ CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Maven, Sonar, and Harness for continuous integration and deployment.
- Manage code using source code control tools such as SVN (Subversion) and Git.
- Use Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) such as Eclipse or IntelliJ for development and testing tasks.
- Explore advanced automation tools like Sauce Labs, Selenium Grid, and Applitools for visual automation (experience in these is a plus).
- Understand the software development lifecycle and core testing concepts.
- Collaborate within software development frameworks, including Agile Scrum, Kanban, XP (eXtreme Programming), and waterfall.
- Lead the test automation effort for small-sized projects.
- Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and collaborate within a Scrum team environment.
- Previous experience as a test automation engineer is a plus.
- Solicit feedback from peers for self-awareness and continuous improvement.
- Provide constructive feedback to enhance team performance.
Qualifications and skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Solid experience building automation using Java or a similar programming language.
- Experience with browser and mobile test automation tools (Selenium, Protractor, Appium).
- Knowledge of API test automation using REST Assured or Ready API/SoapUI.
- Familiarity with AWS architecture.
- Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Maven, Sonar, Harness).
- Proficient use of source code control tools (SVN, Git).
- Experience with IDEs such as Eclipse or IntelliJ.
- Performance testing experience using tools like JMeter.
- Knowledge of Sauce Labs, Selenium Grid, and Applitools is a plus.
- Previous experience in a software design and/or testing environment.
- Understanding of unit, integration, and functional testing strategies.
- Familiarity with software development frameworks (Agile Scrum, Kanban, XP, waterfall).
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a Scrum team environment.
- Demonstrated experience leading test automation efforts for small-sized projects.
- Proactive in seeking and providing constructive feedback for personal and team improvement.
