Responsible for conducting water and air leak test analysis
What You'll Do?
Responsible for developing Vehicle Program Quality Plan which includes all metrics of Voice of Customer (VOC), Initial, Long Term and Design Quality.
Also responsible for monitoring progress to meet quality goals through common global process assessments, facilitating rapid containment of issues, installation of countermeasures and Leadership concerns, if required, to ensure Quality targets are on track.
A considerable amount of creativity and initiative is necessary, as well as a high level of independent discernment.
Key Job Elements :
- Partner with Chief Engineer to drive the appropriate priorities and discipline in the organization.
- Lead Program Quality and Readiness Reviews (PQRR's) to verify that critical work meets the customer's requirements, and are completed on time with integrity; assure there is a high level of awareness of the risk potential of non-green work and provide guidance on whether to proceed or not proceed decisions.
- Initiate target setting early in the VDP and lead Quality Councils in order to monitor status and drive VOC input (APEAL, IQS, and specific regional concerns) in to future programs
- Facilitate Quality Wall Review at PPO/Integration Vehicle Build
- Ensure Quality Assessment is performed and all issues are contained/resolved
- Manage Captured Test Fleet and drive all issues to be contained/resolved
- Participate in CPIT meetings and drive JD Power and Warranty Improvement Initiatives
- Prepare Program updates for Product Development Quality Leadership
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics, or any related engineering field; or relevant experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a similar role within the automotive industry, preferably with exposure to assembly or body shop operations.
- Strong knowledge of problem‐solving methodologies and data analysis tools.
- Knowledge of PFMEA
- Fluent English, with the ability to maintain technical conversations.
- Preferred: Six Sigma knowledge.
- Preferred: Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Preferred experience with 2D/3D design software such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
