Job Title: Quantity Surveyor

Employment Type: Full-Time

Work Set Up: 100% Remote

Shift Schedule: AU Shift / Australian Shift

Job Description

This is a dedicated tender measurement role supporting the SGF Formwork estimating and commercial team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the accurate and timely measurement of concrete structure tenders across client’s active pipeline

The role is focused on producing detailed, high-quality take-offs from structural drawings and documentation to support SGF Formwork's tender submissions. Given our vertically integrated model, the measurement outputs directly inform not only our formwork pricing but also our in-house concrete supply (Piave) and precast (Cambar) cost inputs — making accuracy and structural knowledge critical

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform detailed quantity take-offs for concrete structure tenders using CostX
  • Measure all structural elements including:

-Concrete (in-situ, by element and pour)

-Formwork (contact area by element type and complexity)

-Reinforcement (by bar size, shape, and location)

-Precast panels (m² and unit quantity)

-Concrete hobs, nibs, upstands, and similar secondary elements

-Slabs, columns, walls, cores, beams, and transfer elements

  • Interpret structural drawings, engineering documentation, and specifications accurately
  • Produce clearly formatted, auditable measurement workbooks in CostX
  • Liaise with the Melbourne-based estimating and commercial team to clarify scope, resolve drawing queries, and meet tender deadlines
  • Maintain and update measurement templates and standard libraries within CostX

Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying, Civil/Structural Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Minimum 3–5 years' experience measuring concrete structures — formwork, reinforcement, and in-situ concrete take-offs are essential
  • Proficiency in CostX is a must — candidates without CostX experience will not be considered
  • Strong ability to read and interpret structural engineering drawings and documentation
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to work to tight tender deadlines
  • Experience working with Australian construction projects or Australian-based clients highly regarded
  • Strong English communication skills — written and verbal
  • Ability to work Australian business hours (AEST/AEDT) and collaborate effectively with a remote team
