Senior React Native Mobile Developer
6-Month Contract | Sandton | OnsiteRate: Up to R500 per hour
We are looking for an experienced
React Native Mobile Developer to join a high-performing technology environment within a leading financial services organisation.
This is a
6-month contract opportunity based onsite in Sandton and is suited to a strong mobile developer who has delivered
production-grade React Native applications end-to-end .
This is not a web-focused React role. We are specifically looking for candidates with solid, hands-on
React Native mobile development experience , including testing, build automation, application signing and deployment to the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, enhance and maintain production React Native mobile applications.
- Build scalable, reliable and high-performing mobile features using React Native, TypeScript and Redux Toolkit .
- Integrate mobile applications with REST APIs and backend services.
- Manage application state, performance and the Redux lifecycle.
- Develop and maintain automated unit, integration and end-to-end testing.
- Support mobile CI/CD pipelines, automated builds and release processes.
- Manage application signing, certificates and production releases.
- Deploy and manage applications through App Store Connect, TestFlight and Google Play Console .
- Work closely with engineering, product and technical teams within an Agile delivery environment.
- Troubleshoot mobile-specific issues across iOS and Android platforms.
Essential Technical Skills
Candidates must have strong commercial experience with:- React Native 0.80+ 0.78+ will be considered
- Expo
- Redux Toolkit (RTK)
- TypeScript / modern JavaScript
- REST API integration
- Mobile state management and performance optimisation
Testing
Hands-on experience with:- Jest
- React Native Testing Library (RNTL)
- Detox
- Maestro
Mobile & Native Experience
Candidates should have a good understanding of:- Native iOS and Android integrations
- Mobile application architecture
- App lifecycle and performance
- Production debugging and troubleshooting
Swift and/or Kotlin will be advantageous.
DevOps & Mobile Delivery
Experience in the following will be highly advantageous:- CI/CD pipelines, ideally Azure DevOps or similar
- Automated testing within deployment pipelines
- Mobile build and release automation
- App Store Connect
- TestFlight
- Google Play Console
- App signing and certificate management
- Production application publishing and release management
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will havepersonally contributed to delivering React Native applications into production , rather than having only limited React Native exposure as part of a predominantly web-based React role.
You should be comfortable working across the full mobile delivery lifecycle:
