About Rendi
Rendi is a circular fashion platform for kids. Families send us used clothing, we evaluate and refurbish it, and resell it. B2C sales, a Prime membership, and a B2B2C channel through schools and organizations.
We're building two products from scratch: a mobile app (iOS/Android) for consumers, and a web Ops Hub for the internal team. You'd be the first frontend/mobile developer.
The role
The operation already runs on a mix of tools, manual processes, and good judgment. Now we're building the software that scales with it: a consumer mobile app, an internal Ops Hub, and the Shopify storefront that ties them together. You'd be the first frontend/mobile developer.
You'll work closely with the Tech Lead. Two things to build from scratch:
The mobile app (iOS + Android) comes first. A headless Shopify storefront in React Native: catalog, checkout, credits, Prime membership, child wishlists.
The Ops Hub is a React web interface for the operations team. The screen people in the warehouse and customer care stare at all day.
Alongside, you'll keep evolving the Shopify storefront, the third surface where customers meet Rendi.
Frontend architecture, navigation, state management: you make these calls together with the Tech Lead.
We use AI tools daily (Cursor, Claude Code, and whatever else works). We expect you to do the same.
Technical direction
Where we're leaning, not a final spec. Some choices are still open.
Mobile: React Native (Expo), TypeScript
Ops Hub: React, TypeScript
Storefront: Shopify theme today (Liquid + Lit web components, vanilla CSS with design tokens, Vite). Headless Next.js storefront on the roadmap.
Commerce: Shopify Storefront API (GraphQL), Checkout Kit
State & data: TanStack Query, Zustand
Styling (app + hub): NativeWind / Tailwind
Testing: Jest, React Native Testing Library, Maestro for E2E
Tools: Git, GitHub Actions, EAS Build
What you'll work on first
First version of the mobile app with core flows (catalog, checkout, account)
A shared design system: tokens and components that work across mobile, hub, and storefront
Ops Hub: first screens for the operations team (intake, grading, customer care)
Later:
App iterations: Prime membership, child wishlists, credits, engagement features
Full version of the Ops Hub
Headless Next.js storefront, reusing the design system
Requirements
Technical:
You've shipped React Native apps on App Store and Google Play, and owned the release cycle.
Solid React on the web too: you'll move between mobile and Ops Hub without friction.
You've built or extended a design system, and think naturally in tokens and reusable components.
You work fluently with AI tools day to day, and know when to trust the output and when to read carefully.
Mindset:
Comfortable starting from zero. No existing design system, no legacy app, no prior decisions to work around.
Vague requirements don't stop you. You make a call, write it down, and keep moving.
Startup pace works for you. Things change, context is sparse, and shipping matters more than polish.
Nice to have:
Shopify Storefront API or headless commerce experience
GraphQL
Fashion, marketplace, or circular economy app experience
Design system or component library work
Can prototype UI without waiting on a designer
What we offer:
Build a React Native app from zero, at a company where people actually use the product
€50,000–65,000 depending on experience
Hybrid in Milan, or fully remote if it works. We'd want you in Milan 1–2 times a month.
