As a Senior Robotics Engineer, you will have the unique opportunity to help shape the future of Colruyt Group while staying up to date with the latest advancements in robotics. You will be at the forefront of innovative projects, working with state-of-the-art hardware and software, and making a meaningful impact.Joining Technics, a multidisciplinary team of innovation and technology experts, you will help drive Colruyt Group forward in the field of technology while benefiting from ample opportunities for personal and professional growth. As the internal expert and point of contact for robotics, you will develop and support our digital and innovative projects.
You will be based in Haasrode or Halle, with the flexibility to work from home two days per week.

Your responsibilities include:
- Participate in daily activities related to the design, development, and testing of robotic applications for picking and stacking in high-speed tasks such as picking, sorting, and packing
- Create or integrate new computer vision-based robotic applications using AI and camera technology for accurate object detection and manipulation
- Write reusable, testable, and efficient code while maintaining high coding standards to enhance system reliability
- Stay informed about the latest innovations in robotics and actively engage with the robotics community to remain up to date
- Contribute to a team culture that embraces state-of-the-art tools and modern development workflows, with a strong focus on high-quality code
- Education and Experience – You hold a master's degree or higher with a strong mathematical background, combined with a mechanical or electrical engineering background. In addition, you have experience in Python and C++ development. Experience with path-planning algorithms, AI, and/or numerical optimization is a significant advantage.
- Analytical Skills – You can process a wide range of information and tasks quickly while keeping sight of the bigger picture.
- Problem-Solving Ability – You approach challenges with a solution-oriented mindset and remain calm when issues arise. In your view, problems are opportunities for improvement.
- Goal-Oriented – You are determined and focused, not easily deterred, and always aim directly for your objectives. There is no challenge you cannot handle, and you bring a strong can-do attitude.
- Language – You communicate fluently in English, and a good command of Dutch is essential (preferably) for effective collaboration with colleagues, partners, and stakeholders.
