Overview

We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer 2 to join our dynamic development team. As a Ruby on Rails Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining web applications that serve as the backbone of our business operations.

You will collaborate with other engineers, designers, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality software solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain scalable Ruby on Rails applications.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
• Design robust, scalable, and secure features.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application issues.
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
• Continuous improvement by researching new tools, technologies, and processes.
• Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
• Mentor junior developers as needed.
• Follow best practices in software engineering and contribute to improving the team’s workflow processes.

Qualifications

• Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of web development experience using Ruby on Rails.
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming.
  • Familiarity with concepts of MVC, RESTful, and ORM.
  • Proficiency in testing frameworks such as RSpec or Minitest.
  • Experience with front-end technologies such as JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
  • Solid understanding of relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL).
  • Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

  Desired Skills:

  • Experience in deploying applications using Docker or Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of cloud services, preferably AWS.
  • Understanding of microservices architecture and DevOps practices.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
  • Familiarity with endpoint automation using Python/Selenium/Pytest.
