Ruby on Rails Developer
Location: Veldhoven, Netherlands (hybrid — onsite days required)
Role Overview
We're looking for an experienced Ruby on Rails Developer to join a fast-paced engineering team within a global high-tech manufacturing organisation. You'll work on building and maintaining scalable web applications that support critical internal business processes.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Ruby on Rails applications, ensuring high performance and scalability
- Write clean, well-tested, maintainable code following best practices
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, QA, DevOps) in an Agile/Scrum environment
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical design decisions
- Troubleshoot, debug, and optimise existing applications
- Integrate with RESTful APIs and third-party services
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation
Requirements
- 4+ years of professional experience with Ruby on Rails
- Strong understanding of MVC architecture, RESTful design, and relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL)
- Experience with front-end technologies (JavaScript, HTML, CSS; React or similar a plus)
- Familiarity with Git, automated testing (RSpec), and CI/CD tools
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams
- Good communication skills in English
Nice to Have
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Exposure to microservices architecture
- Background in a large, international enterprise environment
