Overview: the company is looking for a SAS/SQL Developer to play a key role in delivering complex data migration and modernization initiatives. You’ll work at the intersection of business and technology—interpreting requirements, refining data processes, and helping teams move from legacy environments to modern, streamlined data workflows. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Modify and enhance SAS, SQL, and data integration processes to support migration from legacy systems to modern platforms
- Convert Datameer workflows to Dataiku and support related testing and validation activities
- Translate business requirements into SAS and SQL-based technical solutions
- Convert legacy stored procedures and database logic into optimized SQL scripts
- Create and maintain data mapping, transformation logic, and lineage documentation
- Perform data validation, reconciliation, and testing to ensure data accuracy and completeness
- Support business process verification and user acceptance testing (UAT) activities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, business analysts, and project stakeholders
- Work independently to deliver assigned tasks within project timelines
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 5+ years of hands‑on experience as an SAS/SQL Developer
- Strong SAS programming experience, including Data Step, Macros, PROC, and PROC SQL
- Advanced SQL development skills, including query optimization and data manipulation
- Experience with data migration, ETL processes, and data integration
- Experience creating data mapping and lineage documentation
- Experience converting legacy database processes and stored procedures
- Working knowledge of Python for data processing or automation
- Ability to perform light Business Analyst activities, including requirements gathering and documentation
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment
- SAS certification required
Preferred:
- Demonstrated proficiency through technical assessment
- Experience working in large‑scale data migration or modernization projects
NICE TO HAVE
- Experience with Hadoop, Netezza, Datameer, and/or Dataiku
- Experience supporting analytics, campaign management, reporting, scorecards, or data curation processes
- Exposure to data warehousing concepts and large enterprise data environments
