A Day in the Life:
As Senior Data Engineer CCG IT for Fisher Scientific Research Safety Division (RSD) EU, you will join our IT Data Analytics team, acting as a key part of the integration, delivery, and adoption of Global IT solutions (spanning across multiple applications at the Enterprise, Group, and/or Division level).
The Senior Data Engineer, CCG IT, is responsible for working in partnership with IT, ETO, and business functions to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions. This includes ensuring proper design, implementing robust data pipelines, performing data modeling and schema design to support business analytics and reporting needs, and ensuring data quality and integrity throughout the data lifecycle. The role also involves monitoring and optimizing the performance of data solutions to meet SLAs and scalability requirements,s and ensuring ETL processes meet business expectations and requirements.
Additionally, this person is responsible for ensuring the readiness of all relevant applications, environments, tools, and profiles to enable high-quality end-to-end integration and UAT testing. The person is also tasked with warranting the deployment of high-quality solutions, as well as ensuring a proper handover to the support team after the hyper-care period, for both global projects and local enhancements.
You will be working with a team of Data Engineers/Sr. Data Engineers, through the execution of their role, deliver global projects, local enhancements, and break-fixes.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
You have a bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or equivalent. A master's degree is a plus.
Over 6 years in the industry, with 3+ years as a data engineer in the supply chain business.
Strong experience with SQL and data warehousing concepts.
Strong skills in one or more programming languages related to data engineering (such as Python and Scala)
Hands-on experience with cloud environments such as AWS, Google Cloud/Azure.
Hands-on experience with Big Data and NoSQL technologies like Spark, Impala, HBase, Cassandra, Storm, Flume, Pig, or Hive
You have a deep understanding of design principles and architectural patterns.
You’re an effective communicator and mentor, able to lead and collaborate within teams.
You’re familiar with agile development approaches.
Continuous learning and personal development are something you’re passionate about.
Participation in on-call support rotation as needed
Strong documentation and technical writing skills
Ability to work independently while contributing to team objectives
