We are seeking an experienced Senior Java Developer to join our team in Montreal. This role is ideal for a hands-on developer with strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, REST APIs, and Microservices. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing scalable enterprise applications and event-driven solutions in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade applications using Java and Spring Boot.
- Build scalable, secure, and high-performing REST APIs and Microservices.
- Design and implement event-driven architectures using Apache Kafka.
- Collaborate with architects, business stakeholders, and development teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Participate in application design, code reviews, and technical discussions.
- Ensure application performance, reliability, scalability, and security.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues in distributed systems and production environments.
- Contribute to best practices, architecture standards, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
Java / Spring Boot
- 10+ years of enterprise Java development experience.
- Strong expertise in Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, Spring Framework, and enterprise application development.
- Experience designing scalable, secure, and maintainable applications.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented design principles and software development best practices.
Kafka / Event-Driven Architecture
- Strong hands-on experience with Apache Kafka.
- Experience designing and implementing event-driven solutions.
- Knowledge of asynchronous messaging patterns and distributed systems.
- Experience building resilient, highly available applications.
REST APIs & Microservices
- Strong experience developing RESTful APIs and Microservices.
- Experience with API design, versioning, security, and system integration.
- Strong understanding of Microservices architecture patterns and best practices.
- Experience working in distributed application environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases.
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
