Job Description:
As a Senior Java Developer, you will lead the development of scalable, high-performance applications while driving AI-assisted software engineering practices across the SDLC. You will contribute to modernization initiatives, cloud-native architectures, and intelligent solutions that support complex financial systems and business-critical operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise Java applications and microservices.
- Lead AI-assisted development initiatives using modern GenAI tools and workflows.
- Build scalable cloud-native solutions supporting high-volume transactional systems.
- Collaborate with architects, developers, and business teams to define technical solutions.
- Drive modernization efforts from legacy platforms to distributed architectures.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment processes.
- Work with AI/ML technologies and Large Language Models to enhance engineering productivity.
- Support application performance, reliability, security, and operational excellence.
- Create technical documentation, architecture artifacts, and design specifications.
- Mentor team members and promote engineering best practices and innovation.
Required Skills, Experiences, Education, and Competencies:
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 7+ years of experience with Java, Spring Framework, cloud development, and web services in high-availability environments.
- Hands-on experience using GenAI tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or similar AI coding assistants.
- 2+ years of experience implementing and deploying AI/ML solutions in production environments.
- 6+ years of experience with microservices, containers, cloud platforms, and CI/CD practices.
- Experience with AWS, GCP, PCF, or similar cloud environments.
- Experience with MongoDB, Aerospike, PostgreSQL, or comparable databases.
- Hands-on experience with Large Language Models (GPT, Claude, Gemini, or similar), prompt engineering, and agentic workflows.
- Experience supporting application modernization and migration from legacy to distributed systems.
- Strong communication, leadership, problem-solving, and collaboration skills; experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, Agile, TDD, Jira/Confluence, and financial services environments preferred.
The hourly range for roles of this nature are $40.00 to $80.00/hr. Rates are heavily dependent on skills, experience, location, and industry.
