We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Developer to join our growing team at Cognizant. In this role, you will design and develop enterprise‑grade applications, lead technical initiatives, and contribute to the continuous evolution of our technology platform. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to build scalable, high‑performance microservices solutions that drive real business value.
Qualifications
- 6+ years of professional Java development experience in enterprise environments.
- Strong proficiency with Spring Boot and microservices architecture — design, development, and operations.
- Hands‑on experience with Jenkins CI/CD — building, maintaining, and optimizing pipelines.
- Practical experience with Kubernetes — deployment, scaling, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Solid understanding of REST API design principles and web service integration patterns.
- Experience with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and query optimization.
- Familiarity with containerization using Docker.
Advanced English is a must.
Hybrid role in Guadalajara.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java‑based applications and microservices using Spring Boot.
- Lead and contribute to end‑to‑end feature development, from requirements gathering to production deployment.
- Build, manage, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins to ensure reliable and rapid delivery cycles.
- Deploy, manage, and scale containerized applications on Kubernetes clusters.
- Conduct code reviews, enforce best practices, and uphold high standards for code quality and security.
- Collaborate with architects, product owners, and QA engineers to ensure alignment with business goals.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues; implement proactive monitoring and alerting.
- Mentor junior developers and contribute to team knowledge sharing and technical documentation.
- Integrate AI‑assisted development tools to enhance developer productivity and code quality.
- Ensure adherence to industry standards including security, compliance, and data privacy requirements.
