Job Title: Senior Java Developer

Job Description:
As a Senior Java Developer, you will design, develop, and support enterprise-scale client data platforms that power customer experiences, segmentation, preferences, and eligibility services. You will work within a high-performing engineering team to build scalable, event-driven, cloud-based solutions while driving engineering excellence, modernization, and operational reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java-based applications, APIs, and microservices.
- Architect and implement solutions supporting high-volume, mission-critical business processes.
- Analyze business requirements and recommend optimal technical solutions.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to scalability, performance, security, and operational readiness.
- Develop automated tests and ensure delivery of high-quality, reliable software.
- Lead technical design discussions and contribute to architectural decisions.
- Mentor developers and promote engineering best practices and code quality standards.
- Support production environments and resolve critical application issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and offshore resources.
- Drive modernization initiatives and continuous improvement across platforms and processes.
Required Skills, Experiences, Education, and Competencies:
- 6+ years of experience with Java, Spring Framework, REST/SOAP web services, and cloud-based application development.
- Hands-on experience using GenAI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or similar tools throughout the SDLC.
- 2+ years of experience with modern batch processing solutions such as Spring Batch or Spring Cloud Data Flow.
- 3+ years of experience with PostgreSQL, Aerospike, or other cloud-compatible relational databases.
- 3+ years of experience with CI/CD pipelines, source control tools, and automated deployment practices.
- 2+ years of experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or PCF.
- 3+ years of experience with messaging technologies such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or equivalent.
- Strong experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD), QA automation, and software quality practices.
- Excellent communication, leadership, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with Agile methodologies, Python, Atlassian tools (JIRA/Confluence), system modernization initiatives, or financial services environments preferred.
The hourly range for roles of this nature are $40.00 to $80.00/hr. Rates are heavily dependent on skills, experience, location, and industry.
