About The Role
This role sits within a Front Office technology team supporting a smart derivatives and FX trading platform used across the APAC region. Based in Hong Kong, you will be part of a growing team responsible for expanding an existing EMEA platform into APAC, starting with Hong Kong and later rolling out to Japan and Korea.
You will work closely with Front Office sales and traders, building and enhancing low-latency trading applications. The role is predominantly hands-on development (80–90%) with a small L3 support component (10–20%), offering strong ownership without shift or weekend work.
Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and enhance Java-based Front Office trading applications
• Build and maintain microservices and event-driven systems supporting FX and derivatives trading
• Collaborate directly with Front Office sales and traders to understand business requirements
• Contribute to platform expansion across APAC markets
• Perform L3 production support and root-cause analysis when required
• Work closely with regional and global technology teams to deliver scalable solutions
  

Requirements

Must-Have

• 7–10 years of hands-on Java development experience
• Strong experience with Java 11, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and microservices architecture
• Experience with event-driven architecture and distributed systems
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage directly with Front Office users
• Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to explain technical decisions clearly
• Fluent in English (spoken and written)
  

Good to Have

• Experience working on trading or Front Office systems within a banking environment
• Exposure to FX, derivatives, Delta 1, or structured products platforms
• Experience working in global or regional enterprise technology teams
