We are looking for an experienced and technically strong Senior Java Developer to design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance enterprise applications. The role is ideal for a hands-on software engineer with strong expertise in Java, Microservices, Apache Kafka, and Microsoft Azure.
You will be responsible for building robust backend services, developing distributed applications, integrating enterprise systems, and contributing to technical architecture and engineering best practices. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced development environment, solving complex technical problems, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.
This role requires strong ownership of the complete software development lifecycle, from understanding business requirements and designing solutions to development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable Java-based applications and backend services.
- Build and maintain robust Microservices architectures using modern Java and Spring-based technologies.
- Develop highly reliable, event-driven applications and integrations using Apache Kafka.
- Design Kafka producers, consumers, topics, partitions, consumer groups, and message-processing workflows.
- Develop and optimize RESTful APIs and service-to-service integrations.
- Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot applications and microservices on Microsoft Azure.
- Work with Azure services and cloud-native technologies to build scalable and highly available applications.
- Contribute to application architecture, technical design, and engineering decisions for distributed systems.
- Identify and resolve complex issues related to application performance, scalability, reliability, and availability.
- Write clean, maintainable, reusable, and well-tested code following established engineering standards.
- Conduct code reviews and provide technical guidance to other developers.
- Develop unit, integration, and automated tests to ensure application quality and reliability.
- Collaborate with Product, QA, DevOps, Architecture, and other engineering teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Monitor application and service performance and proactively identify opportunities for optimization.
- Support production deployments, incident resolution, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and modern software development and deployment practices.
- Maintain technical documentation covering application architecture, APIs, integrations, and operational procedures.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and recommend improvements to existing platforms and development practices.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- 6+ years of professional software development experience, with strong hands-on expertise in Java.
- Advanced knowledge of Core Java, Object-Oriented Programming, Collections, Multithreading, Exception Handling, and Java fundamentals.
- Strong experience building and deploying Microservices-based applications.
- Hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Spring Framework, REST APIs, and related Java technologies.
- Strong practical experience with Apache Kafka, including producers, consumers, topics, partitions, consumer groups, and event-driven architectures.
- Solid experience with Microsoft Azure and cloud-based application development, deployment, and troubleshooting.
- Good understanding of distributed systems, scalability, high availability, fault tolerance, and performance optimization.
- Experience working with relational and/or NoSQL databases and writing efficient queries.
- Strong understanding of API design, service integration, asynchronous processing, and messaging architectures.
- Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, containerization, and modern DevOps practices.
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
- Ability to independently own complex technical deliverables while collaborating effectively with engineering and business stakeholders.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
- A proactive mindset with a strong focus on code quality, scalability, reliability, security, and continuous improvement.
