Senior Java Engineer

Ciklum is looking for a Senior Java Engineer to join our team full-time in Ukraine.

As a Senior Java Engineer, become a part of a cross-functional development team engineering experiences of tomorrow. Join a cross-functional engineering team building a cutting-edge B2B intelligence platform. Our client delivers real-time data intelligence that enables B2B organizations to identify high-value buyers, prioritize sales opportunities, and execute data-driven go-to-market strategies with confidence.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain high-quality, scalable, and performant applications throughout the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
• Write clean, testable, maintainable, and automatable code following software engineering best practices
• Deliver new features and product enhancements in line with the product roadmap
• Design technical solutions, prepare and review feature design documents, and contribute to solution specifications
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives
• Conduct code reviews and promote engineering best practices across the team
• Mentor and support Middle and Junior Software Engineers when required

Requirements:

• Software Design
  • Strong understanding of software design principles, design patterns, and engineering best practices
  • Hands-on experience designing and implementing applications using monolithic, microservices, and serverless architectures
• Software Development
  • Strong commercial experience with Java and solid understanding of defensive programming principles
  • 2+ years of commercial experience with Kotlin
  • Experience building scalable web applications using modern frameworks and industry-standard development practices
  • Strong knowledge of SQL, including writing and optimizing complex queries
• Quality Assurance
  • Strong experience with JUnit and Mockito
  • Hands-on experience with code reviews, quality metrics, and continuous quality improvement initiatives
  • Commitment to writing clean, reliable, and well-tested code
• Deployment & Cloud
  • Experience with modern application deployment patterns and CI/CD practices
  • Hands-on experience working with cloud platforms and infrastructure configuration

Desirable:

• Experience implementing application security best practices
• Experience with application performance tuning and optimization
• Familiarity with cloud-native architectures and distributed systems
