Senior Manager EHS

The Senior Manager EHS will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive Environmental, Health, and Safety programs across Waters/BD operations to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and foster a safe working environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and manage EHS policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
  • Conduct regular EHS audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and non-compliance issues, recommending and overseeing corrective actions.
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and implement preventative measures to minimize future occurrences.
  • Develop and deliver EHS training programs to employees at all levels, promoting a strong safety culture.
  • Manage hazardous waste programs, ensuring proper handling, storage, and disposal in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee industrial hygiene programs, including exposure monitoring and risk assessments.
  • Collaborate with various departments to integrate EHS considerations into all business operations and projects.
  • Prepare and submit all required EHS reports to regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders.
  • Manage EHS budget and resources effectively.
  • Stay current with EHS regulations, best practices, and emerging trends to continuously improve EHS performance.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for EHS regulatory bodies during inspections or inquiries.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in EHS management, preferably within the life sciences or manufacturing industry.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent certification highly desirable.
  • Thorough knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant federal, state, and local EHS regulations.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing effective EHS management systems.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and engage diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience managing EHS teams or programs.
  • Proficiency in EHS software and data analysis tools.
  • Ability to travel occasionally as required.
