MatchBox is urgently seeking a Senior .NET Developer for a 12-month contract role-35 hours per week for our South Vancouver based public sector client. This is a hybrid role (2 days in office and 3 days remote per week).
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior .NET Developer to support a portfolio of ongoing application development and enhancement projects. The successful candidate will work as part of a collaborative development team, delivering scalable, high-quality software solutions built on the Microsoft technology stack.
This role requires strong technical expertise in C#, .NET, and enterprise application development, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with architects, business analysts, QA professionals, and other developers throughout the software development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise applications using Microsoft .NET technologies.
- Collaborate with Solution Architects, Business Analysts, and technical team members to design and implement scalable business solutions.
- Develop and deliver assigned technical components while ensuring high quality, performance, and maintainability.
- Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews, and architecture planning.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues while identifying opportunities for system improvements.
- Develop multi-tier and service-oriented applications that support business-critical processes.
- Create and maintain technical documentation in accordance with established development standards and best practices.
- Follow secure coding standards, development methodologies, and software engineering best practices.
- Support application deployments, enhancements, and ongoing maintenance activities.
- Contribute innovative ideas and recommendations for improving development processes, technologies, and application architecture.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
- 5+ years of experience developing applications on the Microsoft Windows platform.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience developing applications using C# and Microsoft .NET.
- Experience working within Agile software development teams delivering enterprise business applications.
- Experience designing and developing multi-tier enterprise applications.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, software design patterns, and application architecture.
- Experience troubleshooting and resolving complex production and development issues.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
