Job Summary

STAFFXPERT LLC is seeking a Senior Python Developer on behalf of our client in Durham, NC. We are looking for an experienced developer with a strong background in Python, data integration, SQL, and enterprise application development. In this hybrid role, you will design, develop, and support scalable data solutions, modernize legacy systems, build integrations, and create business intelligence dashboards. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver with expertise in backend development, data migration, and cloud technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust Python-based applications and data solutions.
• Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and database processes.
• Build and support Power BI dashboards, reports, and data models to deliver actionable business insights.
• Design and integrate REST and SOAP APIs with enterprise applications.
• Support data migration, data conversion, and legacy system modernization initiatives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and implement technical solutions.
• Ensure data governance, security, compliance, and best practices across development efforts.
• Develop and maintain backend services and microservices architecture.
• Utilize Git-based version control and CI/CD pipelines for efficient software delivery.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement performance improvements.
• Work with cloud platforms to support scalable and reliable application deployments.

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Python development.
• Proficiency with Power BI, including dashboard and report development.
• Strong experience with relational databases such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL, or Ingres.
• Expertise in writing and optimizing complex SQL queries.
• Experience working with REST and SOAP APIs.
• Knowledge of backend architecture and microservices.
• Experience with data migration and data conversion projects.
• Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance principles.
• Experience modernizing or migrating legacy applications.
• Java development experience.
• Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience administering Power BI environments, including workspaces, gateways, and deployments.
• Proficiency with Git and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with Perl scripting.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working on state government or public sector technology projects.
