What They’re Looking ForThe business is seeking a highly experienced Python Software Engineer with a strong background in building enterprise-grade applications and production-ready services. This role would suit someone who enjoys writing clean, maintainable code and applying strong engineering principles across modern cloud-based environments.
The ideal candidate will have extensive hands‑on Python development experience and a strong understanding of software architecture, testing practices, CI/CD, automation, and scalable application design. Experience collaborating with data-focused teams, cloud engineers, and software developers in cross‑functional environments will be highly beneficial.

Key Responsibilities Design, develop, maintain, and enhance production-level Python applications and services Convert prototype or research-focused solutions into scalable, maintainable production systems Improve code quality, testing standards, tooling, packaging, and overall software maintainability Contribute to architectural discussions, deployment strategies, and engineering standards Work closely with software development, data engineering, analytics, and infrastructure teams Support cloud-native development initiatives across modern Azure environments Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines, automation processes, and developer tooling Identify technical debt and implement long-term improvements across the engineering landscape Participate in code reviews, knowledge sharing, mentoring, and technical collaboration initiatives Communicate technical risks, delivery timelines, and implementation impacts effectively across teams Skills & Experience Required Essential Skills 5+ years of commercial Python software engineering experience Strong background in production application development rather than scripting or notebook-based work Solid understanding of clean coding principles, software design, testing, version control, and CI/CD Experience with modern Python tooling, dependency management, linting, formatting, and type checking Exposure to cloud-native technologies and Microsoft Azure services Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimisation skills Ability to independently manage technical delivery from concept through to production Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration abilities Nice to Have Experience with Fast API or other asynchronous Python frameworks Exposure to Databricks, Spark, or large-scale data platforms Knowledge of AI frameworks, automation tooling, or intelligent workflow platforms Experience with Docker, containerisation, and microservices environments Familiarity with Azure Dev Ops, YAML pipelines, and deployment automation Exposure to modern developer tooling and engineering productivity practices Understanding of software architecture, scalable systems, and design patterns Interest in emerging technologies and modern programming languages such as Rust Why Apply?
