Job Summary:
The Senior React JS Developer will design, develop, and test applications using React JS technologies to support the modernization of the District of Columbia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) Enterprise Application. This role involves developing responsive web-based user interfaces, integrating designs and wireframes, and ensuring seamless functionality across browsers and devices. The developer will collaborate with teams to implement modern technologies including cloud computing, data analytics, and AI to enhance government operations and customer experience.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, and deploy applications using React JS and related technologies.
- Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code following best practices and enterprise standards.
- Translate wireframes and designs into functional user interface components.
- Refactor, debug, and improve existing software and Java applications.
- Collaborate with internal teams on software design and architecture.
- Develop documentation throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Provide technical support and troubleshoot software/hardware issues.
- Monitor performance utilization and proactively identify and resolve complex issues.
- Manage escalated tickets and out-of-cycle requests from system owners.
- Serve as a technical subject matter expert and coordinate activities of other developers as needed.
- Ensure compliance with current and stable enterprise architecture and technology standards.
- Support integration with statewide systems and interact with executive-level stakeholders.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 11 years of experience qualifying for a Senior level STaR2 position.
- At least 16 years of enterprise web development experience.
- Minimum 3 years of experience with React JS, React-UI framework, Redux architecture, RXJS, NodeJS, ES6/5.
- Proficient in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Angular 2.0, and React Native components.
- Experience with JSX, REST APIs, JSON, XML, and translating wireframes into code.
- Familiarity with CSS libraries, Sigma, Adobe XD, and ReactJS workflows such as Flux, Redux, and Create React App.
- Experience with GIT version control and Tomcat/Jetty/Undertow application servers.
- Working knowledge of Linux environments and RedHat OpenShift container-based application development and deployment.
- Knowledge of Continuous Integration and Continuous Development (CI/CD) practices.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Experience with Agile software development methodologies.
- Strong understanding of software architecture and API design (REST/RPC).
- Ability to work with complex integrated systems and provide consultative expertise.
- Experience supporting government or enterprise-level applications.
