About Inhabit About Blue Tent Job Description Summary What You'll Do (Functions & Responsibilities) - Lead the continued development, maintenance, and optimization of our custom WordPress plugin designed for enterprise-scale environments.
- Create, refine, and maintain custom Gutenberg blocks using React.js , with a focus on high performance and responsiveness.
- Debug complex backend and frontend issues quickly and efficiently, with a focus on minimizing downtime and ensuring an optimal user experience across all devices and browsers.
- Optimize database queries and overall WordPress site performance, ensuring fast load times and high scalability.
- Write and maintain high-quality, efficient, and secure code, adhering to development best practices such as automated testing (PHPUnit, Jest, Cypress), CI/CD pipelines, PHP and JavaScript linting, and version control.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas of improvement in both code and infrastructure and proactively implement solutions.
What We're Looking For (Minimum qualifications) - Expert level WordPress experience (5+ years), including Gutenberg editor.
- Advanced level design skills (2+ years)- Expert-level proficiency in WordPress development , specifically with React.js and Gutenberg block development.
- Proven track record of working on complex, large-scale, multi-site WordPress projects.
- Extensive experience with local development environments, particularly Docker .
- Hands-on experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, optimizing queries and improving database performance.
- Solid understanding of WordPress architecture , including the WP-REST-API .
- Experience with automated testing frameworks like PHPUnit (PHP), Jest (JavaScript), and Cypress (end-to-end testing).
- Ability to quickly troubleshoot and debug issues related to API integrations, React-based components, and backend performance.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
- Experience with browser debugging tools and techniques for optimizing frontend performance across various devices and browsers.
- An understanding of cloud infrastructure and how to build scalable WordPress solutions.
