Job Summary
If you have a strong background in electrical or mechanical building services maintenance, this could be the perfect opportunity for you. A leading facilities management provider is looking to recruit an experienced Shift Engineer to join their engineering team at a critical pharmaceutical site in Cambridge.
Working as part of a large on-site engineering team, you'll carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance to ensure critical building services remain safe, compliant, and fully operational within a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on electrical or mechanical systems
Diagnose faults and complete repairs across building services plant and equipment
Perform routine inspections, testing, and fault-finding activities
Maintain HVAC, pumps, motors, lighting, power, and associated building services equipment
Complete maintenance records using CAFM systems
Respond to breakdowns and support critical site operations
Ensure all work complies with health & safety procedures and statutory regulations
Work closely with engineers, contractors, and site teams to deliver high service standards
Requirements
Recognised Mechanical or Electrical qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent)
Previous experience within facilities management, commercial building services, or a similar maintenance environment
Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
Experience maintaining mechanical and/or electrical plant and equipment
Full right to work in the UK
