Symmetry Commerce Inc. is a Shopify agency who brings Shopify merchant experiences to life on the Shopify platform. We’re a high growth, high velocity team that strives to deliver high quality work to our clients. As a Shopify Full Stack Developer at Symmetry Commerce, you will play a pivotal role in developing connecting business systems and building unique experiences on the Shopify platform for our clients. You will be responsible for delivering projects from design to implementation, ensuring that client requirements are met and their expectations exceeded. This role requires strong software development foundations, ability to write scalable code, and the ability to effectively communicate with clients and internal teams.

Responsibilities

Develop Custom Solutions: Work with clients and designers to bring wireframes, designs or ideas to life on the Shopify platform.
Write scalable bug free code: We solutions for high volume ecommerce storefronts. Ecommerce is a 24/7 operation and we need our people to build robust solutions that minimize firedrills, bugs and outages. There will be bugs, but we'll try to minimize their impact and appearence with planning!
Client Interaction: Serve as a member of project teams, understanding client needs, and translating them into beautiful implemented code.
Design Solutions: Work closely with solution engineers and e-commerce specialists to understand requirements and provide scalable technical solutions or workarounds to requirements.
Technical Expertise: Stay up-to-date with the latest Shopify features, APIs, and best practices. Leverage your technical expertise to recommend innovative solutions and optimize existing processes.
Training and Documentation: Provide training and documentation to project team members on how to use custom solutions effectively.
Act like an owner: We’re scaling fast and the only way we continue to succeed is through team members that really take ownership of their projects and their part of the company. We’re looking for someone to build amazing experience for Clients and robust processes and practices internally!

Requirements

Proficiency in a few backend languages (Java, C#, Node, Ruby on rails, php)
Experience designing and developing and using APIs (GraphQL/REST/SOAP)
Shopify web development technologies such as Liquid, HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
Proven experience building custom applications and technology
Experience deploying and maintaining PRs on cloud infrastructure
Experience with hosting provides (GCP, AWS, Azure, Heroku)
Strong organizational ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver on commitments made.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients and internal teams.
Experiences with version control systems (eg Git) and Agile development methodologies and project workflows
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Proven team leadership skills. Your management skills and technical depth allows you to develop and mentor others as well as build credibility with your team while executing broader engineering strategies.
Proven software development background in one of the disciplines such as: Backend, Mobile, UX, or Web Development. You feel comfortable diving into the code and interacting with developers at all levels of seniority.Familiarity with distributed and highly available systems at scale.
You are comfortable working with senior stakeholders (Director level and up), both technical and non technical.
