Job Description: Snowflake Data Engineer Toronto - Hybrid (3 Days WFO)
6-12 months
Key Accountabilities
- Deep understanding of the Snowflake cloud data platform - writing procedures, functions, UDFs, window functions etc. (5+ years)
- Strong hands‑on experience with DBT for modular SQL development, testing, and deployment. (3+ years)
- Proficient in writing complex, efficient, and maintainable SQL queries.
- Experience with cloud environments (Azure, AWS etc.) and data management technologies.
- Proven ability to design and implement data extraction, transformation, and loading processes.
- Proven experience in Production support in Data warehousing.
- Experience in Property and Casualty Insurance Domain.
- Proficiency in using Git / Azure Devops for version control of code.
- Experience with IT automation, batch scheduling using tools such as Control M and DevOps principles.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to meet data‑driven business objectives.
- Mentor junior resources and share knowledge, work as a team to get requirements delivered.
- Stay updated with the latest Snowflake features and best practices.
- Nice to have skills: Python scripting.
