Snowflake Developer/Data Engineer

Core Snowflake Skills

• Strong expertise in Snowflake architecture, including virtual warehouses, micro-partitions, and multi-cluster environments
• Proficient in Snowflake SQL for data transformation, querying, and performance optimization
• Experience implementing data sharing, cloning, and time travel features
• Skilled in designing and managing Snowflake databases, schemas, tables, and views

Data Engineering & ETL/ELT

• Hands-on experience building scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Snowflake
• Proficient in data ingestion using Snowpipe, bulk loading (COPY INTO), and staging (internal/external stages)
• Experience integrating Snowflake with ETL tools (Informatica, Talend, dbt, Matillion, etc.)
• Strong knowledge of data modeling techniques (star schema, snowflake schema, dimensional modeling)

Performance & Optimization

• Expertise in query tuning, clustering, and partitioning strategies
• Experience optimizing warehouse sizing and auto-scaling for cost/performance efficiency
• Skilled in monitoring and improving query performance using Query Profile and Snowflake Insights

Cloud & Integration

• Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) in conjunction with Snowflake
• Knowledge of data lakes and external storage integration (S3, ADLS, GCS)
• Familiarity with API integrations and data pipelines across cloud-native services

Scripting & Automation

• Proficient in Python, SQL scripting, or JavaScript for Snowflake stored procedures and automation
• Experience building Snowflake tasks and streams for CDC (Change Data Capture)
• Strong hands-on experience with dbt for transformation and orchestration

Security & Governance

• Knowledge of role-based access control (RBAC) and data security best practices
• Experience implementing data masking, encryption, and compliance policies
• Familiarity with data governance frameworks and auditing in Snowflake

DevOps & CI/CD

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Git, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions)
• Automation of Snowflake deployments using Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, etc.)
• Version control and release management for data pipelines

Analytics & Business Support

• Experience supporting BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker) with Snowflake
• Strong ability to translate business requirements into data models and solutions
• Expertise in enabling self-service analytics and data democratization
