We are seeking a Software Application Developer to design, build, and support enterprise‑scale applications within BMO’s B2B Banking and Credit Technology portfolio. The role emphasizes hands‑on development, strong engineering discipline, and collaboration across Technology and Operations.
Responsibilities
- Translates user needs into technical specifications by understanding, conceptualizing, and facilitating technical requirements from user.
- Analyzes, develops, tests, and implements new software programs, and documents entire software development life cycle execution.
- Performs preventative and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting and fault rectification of system and core software components.
- Ensures that code/configurations adhere to the security, logging, error handling, and performance standards and non‑functional requirements.
- Evaluates new technologies for fit with the program/system/ecosystem and the associated upstream and downstream impacts on process, data, and risk.
- Follows release management processes and standards, and applies version controls.
- Assists in interpreting and documentation of client requirements.
- Focus is primarily on business/group within BMO; may have broader, enterprise‑wide focus.
- Exercises judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules.
- Works independently on a range of complex tasks, which may include unique situations.
- Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.

Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
- Typically 4–6 years of progressive experience in software development roles within enterprise environments.

- React / Angular / basic modern JS (only if truly required)

- AI SDLC Experience
- Cloud & DevOps: Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab, Jenkins, etc.)
- Platforms & Tools: Linux, Git / Bitbucket, Jira, Confluence
- Delivers high‑quality, production‑ready code aligned to enterprise standards
- Actively contributes to design discussions and solution architecture
- Proactively identifies risks, technical debt, and improvement opportunities
- Partners effectively with BAs, Ops, QA, and DevOps teams

Salary
$61,600.00 - $113,900.00
