Job Summary:
- Oversee coding, testing, and debugging of programs according to technical and functional requirements.
- Lead and coordinate the development of flowcharts, diagrams, and documentation for production and end users.
- Direct research, analysis, and planning for software modifications and new projects.
- Analyze computer applications for equipment requirements, capabilities, and efficiency improvements.
- Evaluate and revise database schemas, write and execute SQL code, and deploy database packages/triggers.
- Troubleshoot application issues by analyzing logs, system messages, and resource utilization.
- Coordinate schedules and programming projects with staff members.
- Prepare detailed analyses, plans, and verification procedures for new and existing applications.
- Develop programming standards, procedures, and related reports/interfaces.
- Implement specialized programs to enhance system software.
- Recommend and implement changes to improve application and system performance.
- Maintain backup and restore processes to ensure business continuity.
- Assign, coordinate, and track the work of other team members.
- Consistently attend work and observe agency attendance policies.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 15+ years JAVA experience (Required)
- 10+ years SQL database experience (Required)
- 8+ years sustaining and development experience with large applications in a team setting (Required)
- 5+ years Linux experience (Required)
- 8+ years experience with Atlassian tool suite, especially JIRA (Preferred)
- 8+ years Agile methodology experience (Preferred)
- 2+ years experience transitioning applications from legacy mainframe to Java/SQL environments (Preferred)
