About This Role
The SQL Server Database Developer creates solutions for a variety of business problems.
They develop the plan to design solutions, code, and test modifications and enhancements to the existing systems with a high level of reliability and execution speed.
They provide assistance to the user community during the implementation of the system or the modified solutions.
Experience with SQL Server, SSIS, and SSRS is required.
Knowledge of financial and currency exchange experience is a plus.
Roles & Responsibilities
Under periodic supervision, convert MS Access data to SQL, develop and modify SSIS packages and SSRS reports, and create stored procedures with a high degree of complexity that are efficient, accurate, and easily maintainable.
Perform impact analysis before creating new processes or modifying existing ones.
Establish due dates for projects and continually meet or complete the project before the deadline.
Conduct problem analysis and system design preparatory to the development of system solutions.
Analyze present workflow and take action to correct deficiencies based on discussions with the users.
Either develop or assist in the development of work plans, task sequencing, and determine the extent to which a task may be performed concurrently.
Communicate effectively in both written and verbal forms with all project members internally.
Position Requirements
1-3 years of experience and a bachelor's degree in computer science; a master's degree in information technology is a plus.
Solid background in accounting, finance, statistics, economics, or a related field.
Strong abilities with database design, access, and usage.
Strong abilities with programming in multi-user environments.
Strong experience with T‐SQL, SQL, MS‐Reporting Services, MS‐Analysis Services, MS‐Access, and SQL Server.
Good knowledge of business applications, including reporting for financial systems and accounting.
High level of operating system and network knowledge.
Knowledge of Internet protocols, DNS, and routing.
Knowledge of financial transactions and accounting.
Knowledge of foreign exchange markets is a plus.
