4FMV is looking for a software Developer for a client in Downtown Toronto on a permanent basis. Located just steps from Union Station this is a hybrid role requiring you to be in the office 2 days per week. Salary range: $115,000 - $130,000 depending on experience. About the Role
This role offers the opportunity to work across software development and cloud infrastructure, taking ownership of services throughout their lifecycle—from design and implementation to deployment and ongoing improvement. As part of a cross-functional team, you'll design, build, deploy, and maintain robust microservices and modern deployment pipelines. You'll help shape best practices around automation, reliability, security, and performance while contributing to continuous improvement across our engineering platform. Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain backend services using
Java and/or Go Contribute to the architecture and evolution of scalable microservices Build and maintain
CI/CD pipelines
to enable reliable and efficient delivery Implement and manage
containerized applications
using Docker and orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes) Collaborate on
cloud infrastructure
design and operational practices Apply
security best practices
across application and infrastructure layers Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and architectural decisions Troubleshoot, optimize, and improve system performance and reliability Work closely with product, QA, and operations teams to deliver high-quality solutions About You
3+ years of industry experience
in DevOps and/or software development Strong proficiency in at least one backend programming language (preferably
Java ; Go experience is an advantage) Solid understanding of
CI/CD tools
(e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions) Experience with or strong understanding of
containers and orchestration
technologies Familiarity with cloud platforms and cloud-native development practices Experience with relationship-based databases using
PostgreSQL and Oracle Experience with alerting, monitoring, and reporting tools including
AWS
