Position : Java Developer III
Location : Austin, TX Hybrid Must reside in Austin, TX or nearby
Duration : Contract (Full-Time)
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
Required Experience
- 15+ years of Java application development experience.
- 10+ years of SQL database development and administration experience.
- 8+ years supporting and enhancing large enterprise applications in a collaborative development environment.
- 5+ years of Linux administration and application deployment experience.
- Experience developing, testing, debugging, and maintaining enterprise software applications.
- Strong experience analyzing application performance and implementing optimization strategies.
- Experience developing technical documentation and software design artifacts.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with the Atlassian tool suite, especially JIRA.
- Experience working within Agile/Scrum software development environments.
- Experience supporting Texas State Government applications.
- Experience working with the Texas Department of Public Safety (TxDPS).
- Experience modernizing legacy mainframe applications into Java/SQL-based architectures.
- Experience with enterprise software modernization and migration initiatives.
