About the Client NMFTA (National Motor Freight Traffic Association) is a U. S.-based organization that supports the transportation and logistics industry through standards, technology, and data-driven solutions. NMFTA is actively modernizing its cloud infrastructure and expanding its AI-driven capabilities.
Role Overview
NMFTA is seeking a true senior-level Software Developer with 10+ years of professional experience , capable of operating at or near an architect-level. This role goes beyond feature development and requires deep technical judgment, cloud expertise, and hands-on experience implementing AI solutions in production environments.
The ideal candidate brings years of real-world experience, recognizes patterns and anti-patterns, anticipates risks, and helps guide technical decisions in complex cloud-based systems.
Key Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain scalable backend systems using C#,. NET, SQL Server, and Mongo DB
Lead or strongly influence technical decisions in cloud-native architectures
Develop, deploy, and optimize solutions on Microsoft Azure
Build and maintain event-driven and distributed system s
Implement and integrate AI-powered features into backend systems
Collaborate closely with architects, product, QA, and cross-functional stakeholders
Troubleshoot complex production issues and perform root-cause analysis
Support Dev Ops and CI/CD pipelines, deployments, monitoring, and optimization
Participate actively in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and technical planning
Apply best practices to prevent technical debt, performance issues, and costly rework
Must-Have Requirements
~10+ years of professional software development experience (non-negotiable)
~ Ability to operate at or near architect-level , not just senior execution
~ Deep expertise in Microsoft Azure , including:
~ Azure Functions, App Services
~ Event-driven architecture
~ Service Bus, Queues, Storage
~ Application Insights, monitoring, and cost optimization
~ Strong experience with C# /. NET (including. NET Core and multiple versions)
~ Strong experience with SQL Server
~ Strong experience with Mongo DB / No SQL databases
~ Solid experience with Dev Ops & CI/CD (Azure Dev Ops preferred; Git Hub Actions acceptable)
~ Hands-on AI implementation experience , such as:
~ Azure AI Services / Cognitive Services
~ Open AI integrations in backend systems
~ Natural Language Processing (NLP)
~ Data classification, intelligent search, automated decision systems
~ AI agents or internal productivity tools
~ Using Chat GPT or Copilot as a user does NOT count as AI experience
~ Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
~ Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams
~ Advanced English proficiency (spoken and written)
~ Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
Nice to Have
Front-end experience with Angular or React
Experience developing or contributing to mobile applications
Experience with Power BI
Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, and Share Point
Applicants without hands-on Azure and AI implementation experience will not be considered.
