Eligibility

This posting is for students seeking early consideration for our Summer 2027 roles. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis; the application window opens until July 24, 2026, but may close earlier if all available projects are full.

Participation requires residency in Canada for the duration of the internship. This internship is intended for students in all academic years pursuing a Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.

English proficiency is required. The internship is paid, 12–14 weeks long, with a Canada base salary of CAD 102,000 (eligible for additional benefits).

Minimum Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Master’s degree or equivalent training in software development or related technical field.
  • Experience in software development and coding in two or more general-purpose programming languages (e.g., C, C++, Java, JavaScript, Python).
  • Experience with data structures or algorithms from academic or professional work.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Currently attending a Canadian degree program and available to work full time for 12 weeks outside university term time.
  • Penultimate academic year or returning after internship.
  • Programming experience in three or more of C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Kotlin, Go, Python, TypeScript or similar.
  • Experience with AI/ML, infrastructure, web application development, Unix/Linux, mobile development, distributed and parallel systems, machine learning, information retrieval, natural language processing, networking, large software systems, or security software development.

About the Role

The Software Developer Internship program offers personal and professional development, executive speaker series, and community-building. Interns will work on complex computer science solutions, develop scalable and distributed software systems, and collaborate on various projects.

Two internship tracks are available:

  • Software Developer Intern : Design, test, deploy, and maintain software solutions on critical projects.
  • Site Reliability Intern : Create, fix, extend, and scale code to maintain reliability and performance for business-critical systems.

Compensation & Benefits

Responsibilities

  • Develop scripts to automate routine tasks.
  • Analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution.
  • Apply knowledge from computer science courses to real-world problems.
  • Create and support teamwork including collaboration with peers, managers, and other teams.
