Senior Software Developer / Technology Analyst Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Software Developer / Technology Analyst with strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, Graph QL, and Kafka to join our engineering team supporting a large-scale, enterprise e-commerce platform. The platform consists of a sophisticated distributed architecture that powers mission‑critical business capabilities and serves a large user base.
The ideal candidate is a hands‑on contributor who combines strong coding ability with sharp analytical thinking — someone equally comfortable writing production code and digging into complex system, data, and functional analysis to support business initiatives and resolve production issues. This role reports into a Technical Lead and works closely with an Engineering Manager and Architects, gaining exposure to critical architectural decisions while contributing directly to the platform’s evolution.
This position suits someone who thrives on solving complex business and technical problems under demanding timelines, and who wants to deepen both engineering craft and system/business‑domain expertise.
Software Development Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend services using Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices architecture. Build and enhance APIs and service integrations using REST and Graph QL. Develop highly available, fault‑tolerant, and performant applications that support critical e-commerce business functions. Participate actively across the full software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis through deployment and production support. Technology & Functional Analysis Perform detailed technical, functional, and data analysis to support business initiatives, feature design, and production issue resolution. Investigate application behavior across multiple interconnected systems and services to identify root causes. Translate business and functional requirements into clear technical specifications. Analyze performance bottlenecks, service failures, integration issues, and data inconsistencies, and recommend fixes. Event-Driven Architecture Design, develop, and support Kafka-based event-driven solutions. Ensure reliable event publishing, consumption, monitoring, and error handling across distributed systems. Database & Data Management Design and optimize database interactions for high-performance applications. Write efficient SQL queries and support database performance tuning. Work with stored procedures, functions, and data processing techniques where applicable. Partner with database teams to ensure data integrity and consistency. Production Support Support business‑critical applications in production environments with urgency and ownership. Participate in triage, troubleshooting, and issue resolution during incidents. Contribute to monitoring, logging, and observability practices that improve system reliability. Collaboration Partner with Product Owners, Business Analysts, QA Engineers, Architects, and the Technical Lead. Communicate technical findings and analysis clearly to both technical and business stakeholders. Contribute ideas and feedback during design discussions and code reviews. Required Qualifications Technical Skills 3–6 years of backend software development experience. Strong proficiency in Java and object-oriented programming principles. Solid experience with Spring Boot and Microservices architecture. Strong knowledge of RESTful API design and development. Hands‑on experience with Graph QL implementation and integration. Experience working with Kafka or other event‑streaming platforms. Strong understanding of relational databases, SQL, and data analysis techniques. Understanding of software design patterns and clean coding practices. Experience with Git‑based source control and CI/CD pipelines. Familiarity with cloud‑native application development principles. Preferred Qualifications Experience working on large‑scale e‑commerce, retail, supply chain, or order management platforms. Experience with Postgre SQL or similar enterprise databases. Knowledge of SQL stored procedures, functions, and optimization techniques. Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or similar cloud platforms. Exposure to monitoring/observability tools such as Datadog, Grafana, or Splunk. Exposure to containerized environments using Docker and Kubernetes. Soft Skills & Competencies Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities. Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, highly technical environment. Proven ability to learn complex business domains and technical platforms quickly. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong ownership mindset and accountability for outcomes.
